When it comes to converting media files between different formats, FFmpeg can meet all your expectations, as long as you know what commands you should type. iFFmpeg brings a graphical user interface to FFmpeg, which gives you the possibility of enjoying the converter's powerful functionality, without typing any commands.

iFFmpeg can be installed like any other Mac OS X application, but it should be fairly obvious that you also need FFmpeg. Once you have both applications installed, you must drag and drop FFmpeg's binary file over iFFmpeg's user interface.

The user interface has a clean and efficient layout, which makes the conversion process particularly easy. You can just drag and drop your files over the main window, choose your output settings and click a button to start converting. It is possible to import multiple files at once, make different settings for each file and convert them one by one or all at once.

The supported output formats can be selected in a drop menu for each imported file. Additionally, you can make a wide range of video and audio settings, on a separate window, for each output format. If the file extensions don't make any sense or if you want to convert your files for a particular device, you can choose one of many presets. The application comes with a wide range of presets, which can optimize your files for various smartphones, tablets and other devices.

Pros

You can use FFmpeg without typing any commands. iFFmpeg is very well designed and its controls are easy to understand. It is capable of processing multiple files and it allows you to make different settings for each file.

Cons

The application's trial version is limited to a certain number of tries. With iFFmpeg, you can benefit from FFmpeg's powerful conversion capabilities, without typing a single command.
